Catching Up

When I left on my adventure nearly five weeks ago, I had quite a few things that I had not managed to complete.  I did catch up with some in the first few days, but lack of time and internet access meant that I chose to ignore some other things and just try and enjoy my travels.

Back on home soil again, I not only had to rest a little, retrain my brain a little, and get on to do some of the things that I had on my old “To Do List”.  I am still struggling to do them!

I have managed to catch up on some of my articles for Weekend Notes – and have some 13 to complete.  I would like to do them before September 20th, but it is a big ask!

I have written about

Dubbo Zoo

Dubbo Botanical Gardens

City of Adelaide Clipper

Tamar Valley Wetlands

The Mews B & B/Motel

Orbost Slab Hut

Cotton Growing in Narrabri

Goondiwindi

I do have many more articles to do.

There are some really quirky places around Australia – and they are reminders of the  dinky-di Australian humour.  One such place is the Wobbly Boot Hotel in Boggabilla.  I didn’t go into it – but passed it as my hotel was nearby.  It was the topic of a song – The Wobbly Boot Hotel.

Now, my understanding is that the hotel is for sale, I think for around the $300,000 mark.  Perhaps someone with enthusiasm and some extra money can help put this hotel back on the map again as a popular venue.

I attended the local WordPress MeetUp last night and learned a few more things. It actually ends up giving me a couple more hours of work. The WordPress WordCamp is on in Sydney the following weekend. I still might get there.

Meanwhile, I am at home for a few more days, trying to catch up on housework, laundry, car cleaning, writing, meetings, and on Sunday I go away again, this time to Gympie and a few days of hockey watching.

I will take my computer, and see what, if anything I can get done! I fear I will be “catching up” for a few weeks to come.
