China – Some Photos of My Last Trip

China – my friends would expect me to post photos of some of my adventures to China. I have been fortunate to make about 6 trips to China from Australia.  The first in 2008 to teach English at Yuexiu University, in Shaoxing,  and again in 2010.  I have visited several times since, including December 2015, and February 2016 to attend weddings – invited by former students.

As I love photography, I spend a lot of time with my camera there.  The following photos were taken in February 2016.  The wedding was held in the Spring Festival – and the university asked a former student to allow me to stay with his family for a few days. During Spring Festival there are constant celebrations – lunch with family and friends every day, and dinners every evening.  I was taken on trips to interesting places between meals!!

The Pagoda was familiar to me – and I was delighted to stay just near it.

Another familiar spot – I used to ride my bike past here.

I am busy with my camera every day – and take some 100 photos daily.  I love taking photos of the reflections in the water – there are so many lakes, canals and rivers, and much of the time the water is still, making it so much easier to see the reflections.  It is such a beautiful country – despite the smog and rubbish.

On this trip, I had little time to myself, and was taken to quite a few tourist attractions.  I like walking through old town streets exploring how life was not so long ago for the Chinese – but had little opportunity on this visit. There are many high rise buildings now, but the older folk often prefer to live in the antiquated villages.
