Art in the Gallery at Moffat Beach

In the Gallery

I had researched a place to visit, a Gallery at Moffat Beach, on my visit to the Sunshine Coast.  I was going there to attend a funeral at 11 am at Caloundra, and had a meeting at 7 pm at Maroochydore, so I planned to stay on the Sunshine Coast for the day.  Hence my seeking somewhere to visit!

The lady who passed away was a friend from Maleny.   I had met her in Hangzhou China, as towards the end of the semester, mid year 2010.  She was transferring to Shaoxing.  I was about to leave.  She bought my ebike, but it was stolen some short time later. We kept in touch, and I visited her several times in Maleny.  Sadly the big C, took her last Friday.

At the service, I met up with another mutual friend, who had flown up from NSW. Afterwards,we set out to have lunch and a glass of wine.  She directed, as she was more familiar with Caloundra, than I was.   We parked at Moffat Beach and walked up to a row of shops where there were a couple of restaurants and cafe’s.   As we made our way to the eating places, I noticed we were walking past an art gallery.  It was the very gallery, that I had researched the day before!!

We accidentally find the Seaview Art Gallery.

As we made our way to the eating places, I noticed we were walking past an art gallery.  It was the very gallery, that I had researched the day before!!

It is a wonderful gallery with an amazing collection of quality arts and crafts.  The lady behind the counter treated us to a very informative tour of the gallery.  I took photos for Weekend Notes.

Then we went to Dicky Beach, and after a coffee, I delivered my friend back to her motel.  Then I set off for Maroochydore.  I had a few hours to spare so meandered along the way. My fuel was low so I wanted to get some petrol, but one was closed (refilling the tanks), so I cautiously went on.

Around 5 pm I had found the meeting place.  Because I was early so wandered around the shopping centre.  I bought some muesli bars as I was a little hungry and knew that Pizza’s would be at the meeting.

I was one of the early birds to the meeting, and managed to get a bit of a hit of table tennis before the meeting.  It is a long time since I last played.  Did a few good shots, but need much more practice!!  It was a WordPress meetup, and again I learned a few more things about managing my websites.

After the meeting, I headed home.  A big and very busy day.
