Time to Go!

Well, not quite.  But in 24 hours time I expect to be at the Brisbane Domestic Terminal ready for my next adventure.

A friend and I are travelling to Darwin in the morning, spending two nights in Darwin, before boarding the iconic Ghan train for a four day journey to Adelaide.

I don’t actually see myself as a train buff, but I have been fortunate to travel on some interesting trains – here in Australia and in China.  I regard The Maglev in Shanghai as the most extra ordinary – just 30 kms in about 8 minutes.  It is an amazing train.

I have spent a lot of time on steam trains – catching them for most of my school life, and more recently on historic journeys. Recently travelled on the special steam train to celebrate 150 Years of Queensland Rail.

Not a clear map – but you can get the message that it leaves from the Northern Territory/Darwin and travels all the way through the centre to my home town of Adelaide.

There’s more information here.

I am ready!!!
