City Adventures – explore your city
Do you know about all the special places to visit in your city? So often we go into the city for a purpose – an event, purchase or similar. Your city would have many places to explore. Have you visited them all? I have visited most, but I suspect there are more. In the Brisbane CBD there are plenty including many parks and old churches – all with historical significance. There are more places and I have listed some below …..
Museum of Brisbane – in the city town hall, with tours up into the tower.
Anzac Square – this park acknowledges our military, with statues and Memorial Galleries under the Shrine of Remembrance and the Eternal Flame of Remembrance. Underneath the Shrine are the Galleries. More details here.
The MacArthur Museum Brisbane – this may be of special interest to my American readers. Click here for more information.
The Brisbane Synagogue – arranges group tours. For information check here.
National Trust House – more historic places are listed here, including Old Parliament House in the Botanical Garden and more.
The Commisariat Store – with exhibitions and tours of colonial Queensland. More Information here.
Old Government House – Click here for more information.
City Centre Heritage Trail – if you would like to walk around the city, the heritage trail will take you to so many interesting places.

I feel rather guilty now as I have discovered more places for me to visit. It’s going to take a while….
And there are loads more. So you can see that you might need days or weeks to explore them all. I am sure your nearest city will be similar.
Why not do some research (Dr Google will no doubt be helpful) and create a plan to learn more about your city.
Would you do it?
