Discovery

How well do you know the area where you live?  I am somewhat of an explorer – and as I have lived in many places around the world and in Australia, I have a habit of trying to seek more information in my new home ground, as well as opportunities to take photos.

I believe I have driven along every road in the area in which I have lived since June 2013, when I moved to Beachmere, Queensland.  I have either driven or ridden my bike – carrying my camera around so many times.

Yesterday as I was headed to Brisbane, on the spur of the moment, I turned off into a short street in a semi industrial area that I had not been to previously.

I had a conversation with a friend a few days ago who spoke of this area, and I admitted I had not seen it.  Now I have.  It is a spot high above the Caboolture River, only meters from the M1 Motorway.

Can you see the M1? Bridge of the river?

It is not easy to get to the water – the end of Wharf Street is high above the water, but it is a quiet place despite the heavy traffic on the M1 a short distance away.
