I moved out of the Birkdale house sit on Tuesday after the owner flew in from Paris, taking up residence with my daughter and her family at Hemmant. I was exhausted after the move and sore from the massage chair the day before (can’t believe it was so bad!) so my car remained
Yesterday I returned the key to the Birkdale house, before quickly returning to Hemmant as another storm threatened. The Birkdale lade gave me a lovely gift as thanks, a beautiful pashmina, which will fit neatly into my bag.
I had attended a workshop with Screen Queensland in the morning, learning about funding of movies. It was interesting to hear that Australia is the best place to create a movie with the 40% government rebate for movie makers, but the area of financing a movie is very complex. The whole event was very well organised, and as a bonus the audience was invited to continue networking on the terrace overlooking Brisbane River – and what an amazing spread it was!!!!! Absolutely awesome. My friend and I had planned to have lunch, but instead enjoyed the free food and later went to the downstairs cafe for a drink and a chat. She is off to China for six weeks shortly, and as I am going away we will not see each other for a long time.
It was a hot day, hot and steamy actually, but pleasant and we walked back via the Art Gallery, which is undergoing dramatic changes. Quite a lot of activity!!
The threatening storm did not cause any problems, and I don’t think we even had any wind or any drop of rain, so I sat and recharged the batteries in my cameras ready for the journey.
Friday and Saturday I will finalise things – and pack my car ready to head off early on Sunday.
