Playing Tourist in my Own State

A tourist from China. Where can I take my Chinese Guest?  We have been to several places before, so this time, I was looking for somewhere different.  There are so many places to go, but this time with a swollen foot, I was not enthusiastic about city sightseeing, so I headed for the country.

The Sunshine Coast Hinterland. is just an hour or so drive from my home, and we set off around 9.30 am, headed towards Maleny to the Mary Cairncross Park.  A photo opportunity from the lookout across from the Park and a short walk through the rain forest.

Then it was off to Montville – sorry, no photos and we wandered around the shops for a while before heading north again, and visiting a lookout.

Then we went to the Ginger Factory at Yandina where we had lunch, sitting in the garden enjoying our lunch and coffee, before heading off towards Coolum Beach.  All up a good day exploring/playing tourist in my home state.

So from there we headed along to Caloundra and with a short drive around Dickey Beach, and along to see the tip of Bribie Island from the waterfront before heading home.

We finished off the day with dinner at Indian Essence/Zyka at Beachmere with some lovely Indian food.

I am tired.  To bed soon, but a few things to do first.  I managed to get my washing done this morning, and I brought it in before it got damp, and I have done a few online things that I wanted to do, include writing a post today.

So, it is not long now before the next adventure begins.
