My Bus is Coming

My Coaster arrives on Sunday.  I am looking forward to it, but have a lot of work to do.  I think I will call it “My Bus”.

In a way, it is getting very exciting, but I look around and see how much work I have to do before I leave here.  I will have to sell a few things and prepare some for storage.  I don’t know how much stuff I can manage to fit in the Coaster.

However, I have today received the route/timing for the Tagalong to Alice Springs in August.  I am glad someone has done it as the camping spots are mainly FREE CAMP.   Whoo Hoo.  It will be an exciting new adventure in “My Bus”

The idea of having “friends” in the convoy is “comforting”.  Since driving such a vehicle,  is new to me,  it is good to know that I have friends around to help me if I or My Bus get into trouble!

Stuart Highway

I recall when I first drove around Australia in 2012/2013 in my car,  there were some folk who thought I was headed into certain drama.  “Remember the Peter Falconio crime?” etc.  At that time I had no intention of going down the Stuart Highway and of course, I managed my solo circumnavigation of Australia without a disaster.  This time I am going down the Stuart Highway – glad to know I will be with a group of ladies who have promised to “look after” their fellow travellers.  I was on the Stuart Highway, though just from Darwin to Tennant Creek.

The Rolling Solo group, of which I am a member, is holding a camping event at Ross River Resort just out of Alice Springs, so I am headed there in August.  Sounds a lot of fun!

One big question I need to answer is which way will I return home.  I will head south from The Alice to visit Uluru after the event at Ross River, and then on to Adelaide.    I have yet to decide which direction I will head after Adelaide.

I usually head back to Brisbane via Broken Hill – and one of my favourite places, Bourke, on the Darling River.  I wonder if I will turn left or right as I leave Adelaide?
